Let's share the Earth
We walk around 7.000 km for two years following an itinerary as close as possible to two ancient commercial roads: the Via Ignatia (from Durres, in Albania, to Istanbul) and the Silk Road (from Istanbul to China). We leave carrying with us earth from the 6 continents in a small bag. As we want to incarnate our message in a strong and symbolic gesture: a sharing and brotherly exchange. We share the earth of the world with the earth of all the countries we cross in sign of peace between people and respect between cultures.
We share our action mainly in schools because we believe that it is where education of young generations is built that our message can be best heard. Our walk and the values that carry us are the opportunity for children to see the world through a different perspective.
These meetings and sharing ceremoniess are the occasion for us to highlight our values.
The Earth is where all living creature is born and where all living creatures return. The Earth embraces us completely, at both ends off our existence. We have a criminal and suicidal attitude towards her. Man must not distroy everything and be left unpunished. Preserving the Earth is also preservingn the human species. We have a vital physical relation with Earth.
But how can we feel the desire to preserve and protect Earth if we do not carry it in our heart and soul anymore? That is why sharing the Earth with othe people is a way to rediscover the spiritual link that unites us to Earth. We must learn how to recognize and love Mother Earth again.
Our desire is to give to everyone, and especially to youngsters, the taste for discovery and the meaning of travel: to see travelling as a wonderful school of life. Leaving and coming back full of human experiences and closer to the problems in our society.
And to do this, walking is an extraordinary vector: we promote walking as the natural means of communication between men. Walking in a slow pace inspires kindness.
This long walk we make is also the occasion to highlight values like courage and outdoing oneself through sport challenge. These values will help us to know ourselves better and thus face others with a more confident and peaceful attitude.
All this brings us to the last piece of the puzzlee which is meeting the other for the only pleasure of dialogue and exchange without any idea of benefit or profitability.
